William N. “Butch” Horsley Jr., 79, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully at home with family members by his side on Saturday, February 21, 2026. He was a lifelong resident of Gloucester County, and was the son of Norman and Jessie Horsley.
After high school, Butch worked at Yorktown Naval Weapons Station (Civil Service) then began farming full-time. He and his wife, Jo Ann, also started their own business, Belroi Marketplace. After retiring, he and Jo Ann enjoyed spending more time with family, gardening and traveling. He also loved to hunt and fish and especially enjoyed doing both with his children and grandchildren.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and best friend of 55 years, Jo Ann, and his son, Andy.
He is survived by his sisters, Marsha West and Myra Clements; son Brian; daughter-in-law, Nikki; grandchildren, Brandon (Blair), Alicia (Calvin), Ryan (Danielle), and Michelle; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Grayson, Holden, Cohen, Adalyn, and Emmerson and many nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished lifelong friends.
Butch had a wonderful life and enjoyed spending time with loved ones and friends. He was a loving mentor and role model to his family.
The family will have a private service. In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate to a charity of your choice.
