William H. “Bill” Mason Sr., a native of Mathews, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at his home. 

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Hattie and James Forrest; three sons, William Jr., Ronnie and an infant. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 64 years, Helena C. Mason; 10 children; brother, Kelvin Forrest (Elizabeth), and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Newington Baptist Church, Gloucester, Virginia. Burial will be in Poplar Wood Cemetery, Cardinal, Virginia. 

Viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m. and family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2016, at the funeral home.
