WILLIAM “GIL” F. YACOBUCCI

William “Gil” F. Yacobucci, of Mathews, Va., formerly of Falls Church, Va., died unexpectedly, but peacefully, July 4, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

An avid cyclist, and a devoted supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, he was also an active 4th Degree Knight of Columbus.

Gil was born May 2, 1944 in Derry, Pa. to the late Mary and Guido Yacobucci. In 1967, he married Helen Banocy.

From 1964 to 1976, he served in the United States Army. He worked as a communications engineer with the Washington Gas Light Company for more than 30 years until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Helen; his sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Gary Harris; his sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Sherri (Great Falls, Va.), Jay and Laura (Baltimore, Md.), and Brent and Maureen (Arlington, Va.); four adored grandchildren, Victoria, Lily, Margaret, and Matthew, and numerous other relatives.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2015 prior to the Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock at the Church of Francis de Sales, Mathews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Church of Francis de Sales, 176 Lovers Lane, Mathews, Va. 23109.
