WILLIAM C. ‘BILL’ HUDGINS

William C. “Bill” Hudgins, 92, died at his home in Port Haywood on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021. He retired from the American Oil Refinery in 1985 and had spent his retirement years doing what he loved best, being with his family, working in his garden, fishing gill nets and hunting with his friends.

He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce; son, Steve, and two sisters, Nancy Broaddus and Rita Revere.

He is survived by his two sons, Charles Hudgins (Carol) and Allen Hudgins (Connie); two sisters, Gloria Haywood and Lola Hambleton; grandchildren, Angela Mathiason (Paul) and Steve Hudgins (Ginger), and four great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank At Home Care Hospice and Visiting Angels for their care these past weeks. We would especially like to thank his neighbors and friends who did so much for him these last months which allowed him to continue to live in his home he loved so much.

There are no scheduled services at this time and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad, 94 Cricket Hill Road, Hudgins, Va. 23076 or to the Mathews Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 1130, Mathews, Va. 23109. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, is assisting the family.
