WILLIAM ‘BILL’ GEORGE SCHOCK JR.

William “Bill” George Schock Jr., age 85, passed away on Aug. 15, 2021 in North, Virginia. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Jan. 18, 1936, he was an avid boater and the past few years he fulfilled his dream of living on his boat full-time. His final berth was located in Mobjack Bay Marina, Va. Bill liked variety and worked for many years in the insurance business, automotive business and finally selling boats. He loved music and had a wonderful singing voice. He was a choir director at several local churches in the West Chester (Pa.,) area. Bill was a passionate and active member of the West Chester Kiwanis Club, where he was a Past President, and later served as Lt. Governor, helping Kiwanis Clubs throughout the division and the state. He was truly the epitome of the ideals of Kiwanis International and true service. Loving son of the late William and Ruth Schock, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert Schock. He is survived by his ex-wife, Arlene Schock; daughters Linda Smith (James) and Karen Pesce (Victor); grandchildren Nicole Overholtzer (Zachary), Cristina Ippolito (Jordan), Clover Smith (Will), Dante Pesce and great-granddaughters, Hadley and Brooklyn Overholtzer. A private memorial service will be held in Rock Hall, Md., on Aug. 29, 2021. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society by visiting www.cancer.org.
