Who is Christmas For?

           It’s Christmas Day.  The kids are running on adrenaline, absorbed with their toys and gifts, while the adults breathe a huge sigh of relief, and yet feel a little sense of letdown.  So much energy and time went into planning, decorating the house inside and out, shopping, hiding gifts, wrapping them and orchestrating Christmas morning.  And now it is over.  Or is it?   If Christmas is only about exchanging gifts it is over fast.  However, Christmas is about much, much more than that.     Christmas is the day that changed the destiny of the people of Earth.  Do you remember this line from C.S. Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia? The wicked witch of Narnia had taken over the land and turned it into winter bleakness, where evil ruled and creation lived under icy oppression.
