Whiting Named to All-Tournament team

The Tabb Holiday Basketball Tournament saw the Gloucester Dukes boys’ team go 1-1 against West Point and Poquoson and earn Jayden Whiting an All-Tournament selection.

In their opening game against Poquoson (4-6), Gloucester would come up just short, falling by a margin of 42-39. Whiting led scoring for the Dukes with 11 points and also snagged three steals while Warner Brush notched a double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, two steals, and a block. 

Once in the consolation bracket the Dukes would rally and soundly defeat West Point, 56-35. The Pointers were 5-5 going into the contest but would not be able to stop the Dukes from earning their second win of the year. Whiting nearly recorded a double-double, scoring 13 points to accompany eight rebounds and three steals. Juwan Thornton filled out the stat sheet with 18 points, eight rebounds, four assists, five steals, and a block.
