White named director of Tri River ASAP

The Tri River Alcohol Safety Action Program Policy Review Board has named Gloucester resident Jay R. White its new executive director.

White comes to Tri River ASAP after serving as Deputy Director of Training, as well as other positions with the United States Coast Guard in Yorktown.

The purpose of the Tri River ASAP is to improve highway safety by decreasing the incidence of driving under the influence of alcohol and other drugs, leading to the reduction of alcohol- and drug-related fatalities and crashes. It is one of 24 ASAP offices in Virginia and operates under the Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program. ASAP provides driver education programs and alcohol education and rehabilitation programs in connection with highway safety.
