White Dog Bistro to host Riverball 2016

Pinball machines and vintage cars are just part of the experience planned for guests at Riverball 2016, which will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, at the White Dog Bistro in Mathews. Tickets are $75.

Mathews Main Street, which is sponsoring the event, invites residents to take a trip back in time to the ’50s, when downtown Mathews was hopping on Saturday night.

The evening will feature dancing to the sounds of swing by the Glen Boswick Show Band and a culinary experience centered on regional and period favorites, which will be offered throughout the evening.

Funds raised will be used to fulfill the vision of a Put-In Creek Park that offers a new dock with a canoe and kayak launch. Additional planned features include a pavilion and pathways leading from a planned seating area in the center of Mathews Court Green.

Various opportunities exist to donate to the park, said the release, including the privilege of naming the planned pavilion at a sponsorship level of $10,000.

Any donor who contributes $1,000 will be named a Put-In Creek Park Partner and join other partners whose names will be displayed on permanent signage at the site. A $500 sponsorship will be recognized by a banner at the event and temporarily in the park. By becoming a Friend of the Park at a rate of $100, donors will contribute toward lighting, benches, planters and other park furnishings, said the release.
