Wetlands board to consider two requests in June

The Mathews County Wetlands Board will consider two requests for construction that will impact wetlands during a public hearing at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, in the historic courthouse.

Edward Inge of Port Haywood, is requesting a permit to place a new 110-linear-foot vinyl bulkhead channelward of the existing failing wooden bulkhead and 24 cubic feet of associated backfill along Horn Harbor at 1099 Possum Point Road.

Douglas Brown of Port Haywood, has requested a permit to maintenance dredge a channel into an existing man-made boat basin along Horn Harbor at 744 Possum Point Road. This would result in the removal of approximately 350 yards of spoils which would be barged to Edwards Creek Farm in Cobbs Creek.
