Wetlands board approves shoreline project

The Gloucester County Wetlands Board approved one shoreline improvement application during a meeting held Nov. 14 in the colonial courthouse.

Mr. and Mrs. Cordon Davis were given authorization for 70-linear-foot Class I revetment to be rebuilt with new cloth, deeper toe, core stone and Class II armor, said Linda Walthall, permit technician in the Environmental Division of the Gloucester Codes Compliance office.

In addition, the Davises received the go-ahead for 270-linear-foot Class II rock revetment in place of existing timber bulkhead and 35-linear-foot Class II sill (25 l.f. to be rebuilt with a 10-foot extension) adjacent to property situated along Fox Creek, a tributary to the Ware River, at 6260 Old Swimmin Hole Lane.

Following its meeting, the wetlands board sat as the Gloucester County Chesapeake Bay Preservation & Erosion Commission. The commission gave conditional approval to two applicants.
