The Gloucester County Wetlands Board held three public hearings during its Sept. 8 meeting.
The first was a request from Randy Orga of Little England Road. Orga sought authorization to remove a rock revetment and to install a 43-foot by 4-foot by 10-foot bulkhead. The request was unanimously approved.
The next hearing was a request from Michael Pittman of Piankatank Drive. Pittman sought authorization to install 78 feet of riprap revetment. Board members unanimously approved the request.
The last hearing was to consider a request from Audrey Jordan of Loblolly Lane. Jordan sought authorization to replace an existing 60-foot commercial pier with a new 70-foot by 6-foot commercial pier and a 10-foot by 10-foot platform at Piney Point Subdivision Park and Harbor. A continuance was granted, carrying over the matter for a subsequent meeting.
Following the meeting of the Wetlands Board, the members reconvened as the Chesapeake Bay Preservation and Erosion Commission to hold two public hearings.
The first hearing was for a request from Robert and Karen Kovacs of Broad Marsh Lane. They are requested authorization to encroach into the 100-foot buffer zone to elevate an existing home. The board unanimously voted to conditionally approve the request.
The last hearing regarded a request from Craig and Lisa McCormack of Blake View Road. They sought authorization to encroach into the 100-foot buffer zone to elevate an existing home. The board unanimously voted to conditionally approve the request.
