Wetlands board approves pier replacement

The Gloucester County Wetlands Board approved the lone application before it during a meeting July 13 at the colonial courthouse.

Scott Rae, Gloucester’s environmental programs administrator, said the board supported the application of John M. Musick to replace an existing 54’x4’ community pier with a new timber community pier 50’x4’, with a 4’x10’ L-head. The pier is located on Caffee Creek at 7036 Sassafras Landing Road.

Following its meeting, the board reconvened as the Gloucester County Chesapeake Bay Preservation & Erosion Commission. The commission considered four applications.

Rae said the commission passed all requests as follows:

—Carolyn Broadwell, buffer modification to construct a single family dwelling on a 4.25-acre parcel that lies wholly within the Resource Protection Area (RPA) buffer. The project is located off Heron Haven Lane along Munday’s Creek;
