Wetlands board approves bulkhead replacement

The Gloucester County Wetlands Board approved the lone application before it, following a public hearing May 10 in the colonial courthouse.

Marlene Mann was granted authorization to construct 61 linear feet of replacement bulkhead aligned landward of mean low water adjacent to property situated along the Northwest Branch of Sarah Creek at 7778 Guinea Road, Environmental Programs Coordinator Linda Walthall said.

Following its meeting, the wetlands board sat as the Gloucester County Chesapeake Bay Preservation & Erosion Commission. The commission held a public hearing on the application of Mike and Beverly Dunston.

The Dunstons sought a buffer modification to the required 100-foot Resource Protection Area for approximately 462 square feet of additional space to an existing structure. The proposed project is situated along the Severn River at 8934 Bar Harbor Lane.
