West Point Ford dealership under new owner

West Point’s Ford dealership, family owned for more than 40 years, has changed hands.

Ron and Jeanine Kody of Richmond Ford purchased the Medlin Motor Company last week. Founded in 1975 by Burley Medlin as Medlin Ford, the business will now be known as West Point Ford.

Former owner Mac Medlin, who purchased the business from his father in 2007, will stay on board as sales manager of the dealership.

“This is an exciting opportunity for the staff since they can look forward to an expanded new and used car inventory, additional employee benefits and an expanded support staff,” Medlin said.

He said he interviewed several buyers before selling the business and felt that the Kodys were the best choice to keep the best interests of the employees in mind. “I thought they would give my people something that would make them feel good,” he added.
