Interns in the Werowocomoco Youth Program have been exploring different careers within the National Park Service.
Having worked with the maintenance division and aiding in archaeological excavations on Jamestown Island, their next project was to assist the cultural resources division with the management of archaeological collections. After excavation was completed, interns washed the artifacts that were collected and sorted them into categories for further study and safe storage.
They have been working with Preservation Virginia this week, assisting in archaeology ongoing withing the historic Jamestown fort.
