Waverly C. “Ravin” Belvin, 68, of Grafton, died Aug. 21, 2012 at Mary Immaculate Hospital.

Ravin loved being on the water and spent many hours crabbing the surrounding rivers, being from a generation of watermen. He enjoyed working in the yard and garden. Ravin was a kind and generous person who never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his father, Linwood Belvin; mother, Susie Brown Baker; and brothers, Hershel Belvin and Linwood “Bubby” Belvin Jr.

He is survived by sisters, Uldine Jenkins, Shirley Kellum and husband Healy, Audrey Hogge and Romania Hartman; step-father, Ronald Baker; best friend, Wayne Thomas, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services officiated by Pastor Larry Jones were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
