Watercolor artists on display in September at RAL

Paintings by watercolor artists Ellen Huddy and Robert Shuler will be on display during September in the windows of the RAL Art Center, 19 N Main Street, Kilmarnock.
Huddy, who began drawing and painting as a child, began producing illustrations and graphic layouts in the world of commercial art at the age of 20. Years later, after marriage, children, and a career in business, she moved to the Northern Neck in 2014, joined the Rappahannock Art League, and began taking watercolor classes, progressing under various instructors over the years.
Huddy’s inspiration lies in the joys of everyday life and the beauty of the rural countryside and the Chesapeake Bay waters. She often works from photos or composites of photos, striving to capture the light and the mood that may define the photo or the moment.
