Water Pro, Inc., a water treatment company based in Gloucester, recently expanded its customer base in the Richmond area and plans to open a branch there later this year.

Brian Bayford, who owns the business with his wife Dorothy, said that Water Pro has done mostly commercial work in the Richmond area for several years. Requests from customers who have second homes in the Gloucester area to provide water to their Richmond residences have expanded their business.

"People want good-tasting, high-quality water that they can drink out of the tap without having to purchase bottled water," Bayford said. "Government and commercial facilities are now able to ensure their employees and customers that they are providing safe, clean water with the Water Pro name."

Water Pro installs water purification and filtration systems, he said, and provides maintenance for most brands of filtration equipment, selling only American-made equipment.
