Washington returns to Gloucester to motivate students

Gloucester native Marvin Washington will discuss his path from Gloucester High School to becoming a CPA and partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers during a forum/tea from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Comfort Inn.

The Middle Peninsula Chapter of Virginia State University Alumni is hosting Washington’s visit in an effort to motivate local students, according to chapter member Harrison Dixon. The presentation is open to the public.

A 1982 graduate of GHS, Washington received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from VSU in 1986. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia, and is certified as a Government Financial Manager and Defense Financial Manager.

 

Washington currently works with the PwC Washington Metro Risk Assurance Practice and has over 25 years of experience. Before joining PwC, he was the director of financial reporting for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
