WARREN DOUGLAS ‘DOUG’ KING

Warren Douglas “Doug” King, age 77, of Hayes, died on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Born on May 31, 1948 to the late Woodland and Virginia King, Doug began his career working on the water with his father, later retiring from the James River Reserve Fleet. He loved being on the water, boats, lighthouses, country music, woodworking, and old westerns, and enjoyed talking to anyone he met. As he aged, he cherished family gatherings more, not only to eat but also to socialize. In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his brother, William Harry King, and son, Chris King. He is survived by his children, Amy Green (Ricky), Kevin King (Pam), Helena Lewis (Scott), and Robert Adams (Nikki); grandchildren, Taylor, Connor, Eayn, Adalyn, Vincent, Jessup; four great-grandchildren, and special grand-dog, Piper. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 12 p.m. at New Life Church of God, conducted by Pastor Jack Smith. Inurnment will be private, and services are under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home & Crematory.
