The Ware Academy varsity girls’ volleyball team started its season with a pair of wins last week. The team hosted Aylett Country Day School on Tuesday, Sept. 14, winning 25-6, 25-12. Then they traveled to Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Newport News Thursday and prevailed, 25-10 and 25-14. The team includes, front row from left, Mia Paton, Lydia Gardiner, Hannah Lambert; back row, Lillian Williams, Callie Penick, Jaclyn Callis, Macon Kissman, Adeline Smith, Barbara Smith and, not pictured, Sienna Rowe. Co-captains are Kissman and Penick and the team is coached by CeCe Newman, Hailey Colley and Catelyn Penick.
