Ware River shoreline improvement approved

The Gloucester County Wetlands Board approved one shoreline improvement application during a meeting held Aug. 9 in the colonial courthouse.

Suzanne Hudson was authorized to construct 438 linear feet of gapped shell bag sill. Linda Walthall, environmental programs coordinator for Gloucester Environmental Programs, said the sill is to be aligned along mean low water at property situated along the Ware River at 6640 Ware Neck Road.

Following its meeting, the wetlands board sat as the Gloucester County Chesapeake Bay Preservation & Erosion Commission. The commission approved both buffer modification requests that were under consideration.

Leslie Hervey was granted a buffer modification to the required 100-foot Resource Protection Area for the after-the-fact reconstruction of a wooden shed. The proposed project is situated along the Severn River at 9377 Glass Road.
