A single-vehicle accident in Ware Neck on Wednesday morning has resulted in a fatality.

The accident took place at approximately 8 a.m. at the 6400 block of Ware Neck Road, according to Sgt. Michelle Anaya of the Virginia State Police.

The driver of the 2007 Jeep Wrangler was traveling westbound on Ware Neck Road, when the vehicle ran off the roadway, striking several trees.

Tim Langley Gilley, 58, of the 6100 block of Ware Neck Road, was transported to Riverside Walter Reed Hospital, where he died from his injuries, Anaya said.

Gilley was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, which was neither alcohol nor weather related. 

Notification has been made to family members. This is the second traffic fatality in Gloucester County in 2018. ...
