The Ware Academy cross country team traveled to Hampton Roads Academy on Sept. 29 to compete against five other schools. Ware eighth grader Gunnar Marston, at left, placed first in the male division with a time of 9:22 on the 1.5-mile course. He led his team to a first-place finish and was named the Peninsula Independent Athletic League Champion for the fall season. Ware sixth grader Rylee Buck, at right, was second in the female division in 10:56 and helped lead her team to a second-place finish.
