Ware girls working on undefeated season

The Ware Academy girls’ basketball team was undefeated headed into its final game of the regular season yesterday with Aylett Country Day School at Ware.

Results were not available at press time but Ware defeated Aylett, 31-15, on the road last month and will have the number-one seed heading into next week’s Independent Schools Athletic Conference Tournament.

The tourney will mark the final Ware games for eighth graders Sabrina Barrack, Robyn Barrack, Olivia Gwynn, Taitum O’Brien and Maria Spadaccini, who join their Waves teammates in aiming for an undefeated season.
Ware’s varsity boys struggled this year but notched wins over Williamsburg Christian Academy and Aylett. It will be a rebuilding season for the Waves next winter with the departure of eighth graders Marshall Barrack, Evan Backer, A.J. Harris, Sam Gale, Mark Wilson, Carter Ruse, Clayton Ware and Mason Kent.
