Ware Church Choral School to host summer program

The Ware Episcopal Church Choral School will host a summer program for students and interested singers the week of Aug. 23-26 from 9 a.m. until noon each day.
The camp and choral school is open to all children who will enter second through fifth grades this fall in the Gloucester area.
Children, ages 7-11, will learn songs while developing their musical listening and reading skills by using their voices and instruments, a release said.
Students will become familiar with steps and skips on the treble staff by singing, listening and reading. Rhythm skills will be developed through counting with clapping as well as using movement while recognizing quarter notes, half notes and whole notes.
Each participant will receive a three-ring binder with music lessons and songs, along with a red T-shirt displaying the Ware Church Choral School logo.
