Ware Academy students give back to community

Ware Academy participated in several activities to help the community during the 2017-2018 school year. 

Ware students in fifth through seventh grades engaged in a community service project with the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society. They spent a morning making toys and grain-free biscuits for the animals. 

That afternoon, the students visited the GMHS shelter to deliver the treats, help with daily tasks, and visit with the animals. 

In another project, Ware’s third and fourth graders sold baked goods and ice cream and donated the proceeds to Ronald McDonald House in honor of former Ware student Brielle Hicks. 

Ronald McDonald House provides a home environment with support and resources to help keep families together while their children are receiving medical treatment.
