Ware Academy holds eighth grade graduation

Ware Academy celebrated its annual commencement Friday at Ware Episcopal Church. After remarks by Ware Headmaster Tom Thomas III, the commencement was addressed by guest speaker Gloria J. Savage-Early, director of the Teletechnet program at Old Dominion University.

During the ceremonies, Thomas presented awards to eighth grade recipients selected by the Ware middle school faculty as follows: Headmaster’s Award, Lilly Turner; Founders’ Award, Mollie Montague; Spotswood Jones Citizenship Award, Jessica Haley; Sportsmanship Awards, Brett Pausic and Sophia Bandurco; and Constance Ingles Award for Improvement, Victoria Wilson.

In addition, Owen Curry, Hannah Holloway, Turner and Wilson received the Ware Academy Decade Award presented to the eighth grade completers who have been at Ware since preschool.
