Letter: Wants regularly scheduled rallies

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

In the Aug. 26 issue of the Gazette-Journal, I noticed articles about the GOP ticket and photos of their rally. Were these events held for county GOP members only? Did I just miss previous announcements?

Regardless, I think the parties should hold periodic events open to all voters. I am not registered in any party, but I always vote and regardless of party, I can vote for anyone I please. The more I know about the candidates, the more likely I am to vote for them.

Why don’t county party officials schedule rallies and hold town hall meetings throughout the county on a scheduled basis? Take the message to the voters and introduce your candidates. Schedule speakers who can discuss your party’s views and objectives for the county and country and answer questions on how they will support the voters.

Isn’t that what a political party is supposed to do? They do it on a national level. Why not us?
