Walter Reed Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gloucester is one of 17 nursing homes in Virginia and 475 nursing homes across 25 states to be recognized in Newsweek magazine’s America’s Best Nursing Homes 2023.

The award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., a statistics portal and industry ranking provider, said a press release. The awards list was announced on Sept. 28 and can be viewed at www.newsweek.com/rankings/americas-best-nursing-homes-2023.

The Best Nursing Homes 2023 ranking lists the best nursing homes in the 25 states with the highest number of facilities according to the United States Census Bureau, said the release. These states range from such high population states as New York, Texas, California, and Florida to states with much smaller populations, such as Alabama, Connecticut, Kentucky and Louisiana.
