Walls for Commonwealth’s Attorney

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Marie Walls will protect Mathews County and will bring excellence to the office as the next Commonwealth’s Attorney. I wholeheartedly endorse her candidacy.

I served under Marie in the Suffolk Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office for roughly three years as a senior assistant while she was the chief deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney to C. Phillips “Phil” Ferguson (independent). Before that, I was a deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney under Stephanie Morales (D-Portsmouth). I now serve as a Special Assistant to Attorney General Jason Miyares (R).

Marie is well-known as an accomplished juvenile and family court prosecutor. Her passion and aptitude for supporting child victims of sexual and physical abuse will be a credit to Mathews. Marie is also well-versed in the prosecution of serious, violent crime, having obtained convictions in countless high-stakes jury trials. Marie is the rare prosecutor who brings experience from all facets of our profession to the table.
