Wall of Valor erected at Gloucester House

Gloucester House, an assisted living facility located on Meredith Drive near Gloucester Court House, recently erected a Wall of Valor to honor current residents who are veterans of the United States Armed Forces. A special ceremony to recognize the veterans will be held at Gloucester House at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Seventeen men and women are recognized on the wall, executive director Deirdre Lund said. If other veterans come to reside there, she said, their names and photographs will be added.

During the Saturday ceremony, each veteran will be presented a certificate and a pin in recognition of their service to our country.

Steve Rucker of the band SlapNation will perform, the color guard from the Gloucester High School JROTC program will present the colors, and representatives from the American Legion Post in Gloucester will attend.

Refreshments will be served.
