The Gloucester County Public Schools Education Foundation raised approximately $10,000 for county public schools with its 3K and 8K Walk/Run held Feb. 23 at Gloucester High School, according to organizers.
About 250 people signed up for the walk/run and 170 crossed the finish line, despite the rainy weather. There were also 50 volunteers and others attending, while numerous businesses and individuals contributed financially.
The top three male 8K finishers were William Oudekerk, 18, in 27:12; Ryan Carroll, 36, in 28:21; and Logan McCue, 16, in 29.52. All three are from Chesapeake.
The top three female 8K finishers were Christina Burbach, 44, of Arlington in 31:27; Dena Goble, 48, of Williamsburg in 40:11 and Christy Lindberg, 47, of Gloucester in 41:35.
