Waldron named executive director of The Brambles

Sandra Waldron of Susan has been appointed executive director of The Brambles, a Mathews business that provides housing and care for adults with intellectual disabilities.

Waldron said her job will be to assist owners Clyde and Mary Forrest as they move into retirement. She will be in charge of staffing, nursing, housekeeping, property maintenance, programming, and other facets of all of the company’s residential and day support facilities. While The Brambles currently operates under an intellectual disabilities waiver program, Waldron said she will be adding Intermediate Care Facility programming.

A certified trauma professional and a credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselor, Waldron said she holds a bachelor’s degree in human development and an associate’s degree in humanities from Oswego State University, as well as a master’s degree in social work from Syracuse University.
