Wagner named assistant superintendent

Charles A. "Chuck" Wagner of Williamsburg, was appointed assistant superintendent for instruction for Gloucester County Public Schools by the Gloucester School Board during at its April 13 meeting. The position had been unfilled since the retirement of former assistant superintendent Donna Owen in June 2009.

Wagner has served as principal at Jamestown High School in Williamsburg since 2005 and was assistant principal at Lafayette High School in Williamsburg from 2001 until his appointment as principal. He taught earth science at LHS before joining the administration.
Wagner received a doctor of education degree in educational policy, planning and leadership from the College of William and Mary in 2008. He also holds a master’s degree in educational leadership degree from the University of Virginia and a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Old Dominion University.
