W.F. ‘BUCKY’ CLEMENTS

W.F. “Bucky” Clements, age 84, of Bena, died at his home on July 5, 2018, following a three-year battle with cancer.  

For more than 25 years, Bucky was a Mill Supply Sales Associate with Taylor Parker, as well as Dillion Supply, and following retirement Village Plumbing Supplies. Memberships include Abingdon Episcopal Church, Achilles Masonic Lodge No. 281 A.F. and A.M. (proud to receive his 50-year pin in 2016), and Khedive Temple of the Shrine, AAONMS, Norfolk.

Preceded in death by his son, Louis E. Clements; great-granddaughter, Willow Clements; his parents, Louis A. and Margaret J. Clements.  

Survivors include his wife, Marion Porter Clements; son, Mark F. Clements; grandchildren, Savannah and Louis E. Clements; sisters, Peggy C. Robins, Barbara C. Groh (Norman); stepsons, D. Meade Porter, Bradley Porter (Heather); step-grandchildren, Landon and Madelyn, and the last of his many pets, his beloved Labrador, Dolly.

Bucky was a soft-hearted, witty southern gentleman who never met a stranger and always had a good story to tell. He loved animals, tending his garden, spending time on the water and woodworking. 

A memorial service conducted by the Rev. Sven vanBaars was held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 9, 2018, in Abingdon Episcopal Church. Inurnment was private. The family received friends Monday in the Parish Hall following services.

The family would like to thank Dr. Zullo, Riverside Cancer Institute in Gloucester, Bay Aging, Riverside Hospice nurses George Coleman and Pam Hudson, personal aides Heather Jenkins and Georgette Freiermuth.
