VSO returns to Gloucester on June 2

The Cook Foundation will present the Symphony Under the Stars Family Concert on Saturday, June 2, beginning at 8 p.m. on the lawn of Main Street and Walter Reed Way, Gloucester. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will be given by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. 

This is the 12th year that the Cook Foundation has hosted the program. Touted as one of the most anticipated events of the year in the community, it is expected to draw over 2,000 people to Gloucester Court House for an evening of music and food.

This year’s conductor is Erin Freeman, music director of the Wintergreen Music Festival.

Those who dine on Main Street before the concert will receive 10 percent off at a number of restaurants there. Picnics are also welcome and onsite dining will be available by Good Life Kitchen and Boy Scout Troop 111.
