The Virginia School Boards Association has recognized Gloucester County’s Community Engagement Coordinator program within Gloucester County Public Schools as a Showcase for Success. Coordinators improve student achievement by bringing together schools, families and the community, managing their individual school’s volunteer program, planning enrichment opportunities for students, coordinating study trips, speakers and special programs, supervising community use of their school and serving as a liaison between their school and the community.
