Letter: Voting integrity

The hot topic of voting fraud is not going away. Our responsibility is to be informed and know those who oversee our voting. In Mathews, we are fortunate and proud to have Carla Faulkner as our Registrar and her efforts are impeccably trustworthy. Consider your Electoral Boards (three from each county or city) with three-year terms. Look up the details in the Virginia Department of Elections. The meetings can be attended by the public, but they cannot participate. Get to know these people and their responsibilities.

Here is one example that merits our bipartisan concern and further investigation: it is “ERIC” (Electronic Registration Information Center). A little-known organization created in 2014 and becoming a nationwide voter data-gathering system, funded by the Pew Center and an “anonymous” donor, the Soros Open Society.
