Voters to have their say

Voters across the state will head to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots for their choice for Virginia’s next governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general.

Voters in Gloucester and Mathews will also decide on several open seats on both counties’ boards of supervisors and school boards, as well as who will be the next 98th District representative to the state’s House of Delegates.

Regular polling locations in both counties will be open Tuesday from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Also, voter registrar offices will be open today and Friday during regular office hours for absentee voting. Offices will also be open for special hours on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. in Gloucester and 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. in Mathews for the last day of absentee voting.

For the office of governor, voters will have three choices: Democrat Ralph Northam, Republican Ed Gillespie, and Libertarian candidate Clifford Hyra.
