Voters (except for those who cast their ballots early) will head to the polls Tuesday to decide a number of state and local races.
Topping this year’s ballot is the gubernatorial race between Democrat Terry McAuliffe and his Republican opponent Glenn Youngkin. Other statewide races include lieutenant governor (Republican Winsome Sears vs. Democrat Hala Ayala) and attorney general (incumbent Democrat Mark Herring vs. Republican Jason Miyares).
Gloucester and Mathews voters will join the rest of the 98th House of Delegates’ district in choosing between incumbent Republican Keith Hodges and his Democratic challenger, Dr. Ella Webster.
In Gloucester, voters will decide on three seats on the county board of supervisors and three seats on the school board. Contested races on the board of supervisors include the Petsworth District (incumbent Republican Mike Winebarger vs. independent Ken Gibson) and at-large (incumbent independent Kevin Smith vs. Republican Teresa Altemus) seats.
