A voter registration drive will be held from 2-5 p.m. next Saturday, Oct. 3, in Mathews. Kamilah Turner, organizer, said the InstaVoteFest is a “strictly nonpartisan” event which will take place at 596 Main Street, a private residence across from Riverside Convalescent Center in Mathews. She said the signup drive will include fall-themed, “Instagram-worthy” stations with pumpkins, haystacks, corn stalks, and other fall scenes. The person with the Instagram post using #instavotefest that gets the most “likes” by Oct. 10 will win a prize, Turner said. The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 3 election is Oct. 13. Persons who will be 18 years of age on Election Day are eligible to vote. Turner stressed that InstaVoteFest will be COVID-19 safe, with social distancing, sanitizing, and mask wearing, except when a photo is taken. Cloth masks will be available free of charge.
