Volunteers to be recognized Tuesday

Gloucester County will hold its first Blue Ribbon Volunteer Recognition Program from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at T.C. Walker Education Center.

Christi Lewis, Gloucester’s Director of Community Engagement, said the program will honor a number of people who have made a significant contribution to Gloucester County. Lewis said she did not know how many people may be recognized for the time and effort given to community organizations, county government and schools.

Although Gloucester is fortunate to have many active volunteers, Lewis said, there’s still a need for more. She said the county database showed 28 groups seeking volunteers this week.

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution at its April 4 meeting recognizing April as Volunteer Month.
