Volunteers sought for Gloucester schools

Remember the excitement and anticipation of returning to school?  Finding out who your assigned teachers are, putting on new clothes and shoes and walking into the energized environment of the school building?  Those days don’t have to be over!

September is “back to school” time … but it doesn’t have to be just for students and school personnel. The school doors are also open for parents, grandparents, community members, retirees and local business people who can capture the excitement of returning to school by being a volunteer.

Gloucester Community Education seeks community members who are interested in making a difference in a child’s life by volunteering as tutors, mentors, lunch buddies, resource assistants, helpers and/or enrichment and club instructors. Just 30 to 60 minutes a week can make a significant impact on a student’s success.
