Volunteer recruitment fair to be held next Thursday

Gloucester County, the Fairfield Foundation, Wood-ville Rosenwald School and the Guinea Heritage Association will hold a volunteer recruitment fair next Thursday, Nov. 2, from 5-7 p.m. at the community room of Gloucester County Public Library, Main Street Center.

Gloucester Museum of History and Gloucester Visitor Center are in need of volunteers to work the desk and provide visitor services, according to Museums Coordinator Robert Kelly. He said they are “especially looking for weekend help.” The museum is open Monday through Saturday and the visitor center is open all seven days.

There are no prerequisites for volunteering with the museum, said Kelly. He is looking for people who enjoy chatting with others, want to give back to their community and like history. Kelly said that the museum and visitors center are often the first stop out-of-towners make to the county and volunteers are “serving as an ambassador for Gloucester County.”
