Volunteer of the month

Lisa Booth is Dug In Farms’ May Volunteer of the Month. Booth started volunteering at Dug In Farms, White Stone, during a six-month leave from her corporate job. She found the work educational, enjoyable, and mindful. So much so, Booth continued her weekday shift at the farm when she returned to her full-time position. Carolyn Quinn, owner of Dug In Farms, appreciates the volunteers. “They help the farm grow both literally and figuratively,” she said. Dug In Farms will continue its series of free tastings this Friday and Saturday with The Funny Farm (Warsaw) brats, fresh grilled at the market and served with Capt. Denny’s (White Stone) mustard. Noah Cannon, owner of The Funny Farm, will be on hand Saturday to answer questions and offer samples of his sustainably raised pork products. Tastings are offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days.
