Volunteer appreciation

Bread for Life Community Food Pantry volunteers were honored with an appreciation cookout Sunday at Ware Episcopal Church for their service to the community. As part of the celebration, the Rev. Scott Parnell (pictured) offered prayers for the volunteers and then blessed the Ware Gardens, where all of the produce grown is given directly to Bread for Life so the pantry can distribute the vegetables to those in need. Last year, more than 300 pounds of produce was harvested. Community members who are passionate about addressing food scarcity and are interested in supporting this work through volunteering in maintaining the garden are invited to contact Ware Church for more information. You do not need to be a member of the church to serve.
