Visual Storytelling exhibit on display through Oct. 25

Visual Storytelling, an art exhibit in which each picture tells a story, is on display through Oct. 25 at the Bay School Community Arts Center in Mathews.

The work of 15 artists is represented in the show, with pieces that include hanging wall art, pottery, jewelry, and functional art, said a press release.

“Entries from Visual Storytelling will engage the viewer’s imagination and curiosity about what IS the story behind the art,” said the release.

Participants in the After School OpenArts children’s program will have the opportunity to come up with their own stories to go with their favorite pieces, said the release, and those stories will be displayed along with the artwork. In addition, children will be able to vote for their favorite piece in the show, and a “Kids Choice Award” will be awarded.

Visual Storytelling may be viewed in person at the gallery on Main Street or online at www.bayschool-arts.com.
