Virginia’s Finest to be showcased in virtual trade show

Virginia’s specialty foods and beverages will be showcased this year in a virtual trade show, rather than the in-person food expos of the past.

The pandemic is forcing the show online, according to the sponsor, the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

The show will be held as a series of virtual meetings connecting participants in the Virginia’s Finest program with food industry buyers and merchants from across the United States, a release said. It starts Oct. 29 and ends Nov. 5. Full information can be found at www.2020vaexpo.com.

According to a preview of the expo, four live sessions will be held in several categories: baked goods; snacks and confections; non-alcoholic beverages; and salsas and condiments.

Each virtual session will be a live and moderated tasting, as five exhibitors guide buyers through a tasting of up to three pre-shipped products, a notice said.
